I'm thinking about upgrading my CPU and GPU. Here are my current specs https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kYX9LJ

The parts I want to upgrade are my GTX 1060 to an RTX 2070 Super and my i5 8400 to an i7 9700. Not interested in overclocking at the moment.

My PSU is a SeaSonic Focus Plus Gold 750w 80+ and my motherboard is a Gigabyte B360M DS3H Micro ATX. This would be my new build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZkCxtp

However, PCPartPicker is warning me that to upgrade to a i7 9700 I might run into compatibility issues because some Intel B360 motherboards need a BIOS update before using Coffee Lake Refresh CPUs. I've updated my BIOS before so I'm not scared of doing it, just making sure I'm not about to buy things that won't go together even with a BIOS update.

Solution
No compatibility issues whatsoever. As you said, PCPartpicker is just flagging it because the board needs a BIOS update (to version F14) to support 9th gen CPUs. You've done that already.

A 2070 Super is quite overkill for a 1080p 60Hz monitor.....

Would my current CPU bottleneck a 2070 Super?
Didn't realize it was a 60hz, will grab a 144hz for sure
