Upgrading CPU and MOBO

Hi I just had my mobo crap out on me and ill be buying a new INTEL cpu I will be using it for playing games asnd streaming and was thinking about getting the i7 4790k but im wondering if moving to one of the new skylake cpus would be better.

The Skylakes are too expensive being so new. Also, they aren't even that much better than current CPUs. Go with that i7 and a Z motherboard.

Thats what I was thinking. plus with having to buy new ram thats an extra 100$
