I am planning on upgrading my CPU and Motherboard and possibly RAM. I would like to not have to re-install windows if at all possible.

Current PC Specs
MB: MSI 760GM-P23(FX)
CPU: AMD FX-6100
GPU: EVGA GTX 750 Ti
RAM: 2x Patriot Viper Xtreme 4gb
HDD: 1x WD Blue 1TB, 1x WD Blue 500GB
OS: Windows 10 64bit (Upgraded from Windows 7 retail)

PC Specs after upgrade
MB: MSI B85M-E45
CPU: Intel Core i5 4690
Everything else same as above

I would like to know if it is possible to preform this upgrade without re-installing Windows, just replacing the old parts with the new ones and reconnecting the hard drives. I imagine there will be problems as I am switching from AMD to Intel. The 1TB hard drive has the OS on it and the 500gb hard drive has most of my games on it.

If it is not possible to do this without re-installing windows, Is it possible to upgrade to Windows 10 again after installing Windows 7 from the disc on the upgraded system?

Also, the new motherboard has four dimm slots whereas my current one only has two. They dont appear to be selling the RAM I have anymore (at least not on Newegg). Will there be any problems combining two more sticks of RAM of a different brand with the two sticks I have? provided they are the same speed and voltage.

When changing the mobo you will likely have to reinstall Windows and contact Microsoft in order to re activate the licence key. Adding additional RAM sticks may or may not cause an issue even if everything is the same. Even same brand and same kit. Mixing kits is not recommended but sometimes they magically work sometimes they dont. Lots of luck is involved there. You can reinstall upgrade to Windows 10 after installing 7 once you have got all the updates taken care of as far as I know.

Thank you for your answer. Would there likely be any problems with the 500gb hard drive that has nothing but games on it after the upgrade? Or should I just be able to plug the drive in and have everything working the way it should be?
