Hi!
I have a Gigabyte b360m-h motherboard and an i3-8100, and I bought an i5-8400, and I'm willing to change it soon. The thing is that I heard you need a bios update before changing the cpu. Will it work without it? Or do I have to update the bios? I know that you don't need to put on a new OS.

Solution
The Manufacturers CPU Support list for your motherbd lists the minimum bios version needed to support the selected processor.
You'll find newer Bios's typically in the Downloads section of the same site; as well as drivers . You'll also find your manual there should you need it.

All manufacturers have such pages. Only boards made for OEMs, like Dell & HP, typically won't be found as they are expected to be supported by the OEM.

You'll find your answer here: https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/B360M-H-rev-10/support#support-cpu

Both processors work with the first (F1) BIOS version so their no reason to update the BIOS.
