With the same motherboard, no. No OS reinstall, unless errors are seen.I know I don't need to, but I like things to be nice and clean.
If I don't, I would use DDU.
Going from 5600X & 3060 Ti to 5700X3D and RX 9070 XT OC.
Honestly wouldn't bother given the same family of processor and also assuming same mobo. That CPU update is not really going to be worthwhile outside an exceptional price on the newer one.
For sure going to want to do a clean install of graphics software and get adrenalin straightened out.
The 5700X3D gives you within 4-5% performance of a 9600x in gaming at 1080p and in some games beats the 9600X. If you transition to 4k gaming later you can probably keep that platform for another 4-5 years considering my 5090 is still the bottleneck at 4k with my 5800X3D.Thanks,
I wasn't originally gong to upgrade the CPU, but I found a number of posts of people doing more or less the same upgrade. They said the 5700X3D (w/RX 9070 XT) made a big difference in gaming over 5600x.
