Upgrading cpu heatsink?

Hi Im upgrading my CPU Socket 775 core 2 duo e8400 3.0 ghz CPU with a core 2 quad q9650 3.0 ghz CPU

i was wondering if i can use the same heat-sink for the new processor the heat sink is set up to have a fan blowing through its fins

The C2D is a 65W processor and the C2Q is a95W processor. If you are using the 65W stock cooler, it will be underpowered to handle the 95W C2Q when the quad gets loaded up. I recommend you get a proper 95W stock cooler or an after market cooler for it.
