My current build:
I5 6500
GTX 1070
2x4 8GB crucial ballistic
Silverstone 500w gold
1tb HDD, 250gb SSD
NZXT Manta

Ok, here's what's happening, I'm using my old parts to build a productivity PC for a close family friend. They are getting everything except my GPU and Hard drives. I am also keeping the Manta case.

I want to upgrade to ryzen, but am having trouble finding a combination of CPU,MOBO,RAM,PSU that outperforms my current build, but doesn't absolutely break the bank. It's mostly the mini itx MOBO that is costing alot.

Open to all suggestions/feedback about CPU, MOBO, RAM, etc!
Thanks so much!

What is your budget?

Without knowing your budget, I would go with a 2600. It is a solid CPU for a good price. Ryzen scales well with high speed RAM, so I suggest 3200mhz rated RAM. Dont go cheap on the PSU. If there is a malfunction in the PSU, it can damage your rig.
