(Excuse my ignorance on some things.)
Hey guys, my current pc specs are as follows:

CPU: AMD A10-5800k
Memory: 8G
GPU: GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB FTW Edition
Mobo: FM2A88X Extreme4+
PSU: 600w

Hey guys I needed some help upgrading my cpu. I have a budget around 250. As you can see from my specs I have a amd apu that has the fm2 socket type. I was looking to upgrade it and found out its a pretty much dead socket. I looked into the Athlon x4 880k (becuse it had no Intergrated graphics). But I my final question is: should I buy a new mobo and a new cpu or stay on the FM2 socket road

Solution
I would say if you can wait a few months, do so, as Both Intel and AMD should be releasing new chips at the start of 2017. Its a pretty bad time to buy into any amd socket. If you cant wait, you should look towards this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($191.91 @ Jet)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H110M-S2H Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($61.98 @ Newegg)
Total: $253.89
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

gaming- get a athlon x4 860k if your gaming for now and save up for a zen or skylake/kabylake budget build like the pentum 4560 looks nice with a 2 core 4 thread coming in at 3.5 ghz should be good for gaming
