Question Upgrading CPU on ASUS PTGD1-LA motherboard, need advice?

I have HP a1019h miniATX computer, comes with ASUS PTGD1-LA motherboard. After long research I found that Intel Pentium 4 Processor 650 is highest CPU I can put, according to HP website. But, I found on ASUS website ( http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-ASUS/P5GD1-VM.html ) The highest CPU I can install Intel Pentium 4 Processor 672. Do you think it will work? If yes, should I get another cooler? Thank you in advance.

Motherboard model numbers are not the same according to your info:

Your computer: ASUS PTGD1-LA

Your page link: ASUS P5GD1-VM

Just because they have the same CPU socket does not necessarily mean they can use the same CPU.

That page is not on the ASUS website. It's a third-party site.

ASUS PTGD1-LA is made by Asus to only HP, the generic main Asus model is ASUS P5GD1-VM. Which I understand, HP asks ASUS to make a MB, just for me. And ASUS takes one model in hand modifies it, and calls different nam, but keeps the family name in it. GD1 is a codefamily name. I compared both motherboards visually and specs. They are 99% identical except, PTG1-LA has extra USB ports and different video integrated adapter. So, I thought maybe it’s possible.
