Also depends on what the rest of your system is. What size of psu do you have? motherboard?

That CPU is LGA 1150 so you just need to do the following, first find the Core i7 LGA1150 processor you want to buy, then head over to your motherboard manufacturer's website and confirm it supports that specific model. If it does then you can swap it and go. If not you will need a new motherboard. Your PSU will be fine.

According to ASRock's website

http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H97M/?cat=CPU

That board supports any number of Core i7's, use that list as a guide to what models will work. And your PSU is fine.

You will only notice the cpu help in select games. Minecraft, dayz, bf4, and a few others.

Ok I think we have filled this board with a few too many answers of very few words. I will try to sum it up in one post.

A new CPU is not going to give you leaps and bounds in gaming performance unless you are playing a game that using the CPU a lot (minecraft, dayz, etc). A second gpu would give you an up in performance.

Your current system can house an i7 providing you get the LGA1150 chip set version. Your PSU should be fine.

You will probably wan't to upgrade your heat-sink and/or cooler, because you are getting a more powerful cpu.

Hope this clears some of it up.
