Upgrading CPU - Will I see a graphics increase?

I'm not the most savvy when it comes to CPUs and troubleshooting performance issues, but my PC is currently running an i3 4160/R9 270X/8GB RAM. PUBG at the moment runs however it has a low framerate and the graphics look really nasty (Admittedly I haven't played with the graphics too much). But I was wondering if upgrading to a high end i5 would have a noticeable difference? I don't want to spend lots of money to find that there isn't much improvement. If so, what i5 would you guys recommend? I'm also aware that it's an early access game and is poorly optimised.

Thanks for any help!

Yes an i5 will greatly improve performance but I see you're running a 4th gen and that means you need new ram, mobo and cpu. So the cheapest and best upgrade will be getting a new gpu for now. 1060 or 570/580 will do just fine. In the future you can change the mobo, cpu and ram.
