Go to the support section of your motherboard manufacturers web site and download the bios file and read the directions and do it. Or read your manual. Nobody can read your mind on what make and model your motherboard is. And if you do it that way you will actually learn how to do it.

it's confusing me & I don't want to screw it up, the manual doesn't specify what to do when upgrading to a new cpu

If it needs a bios update to support the new cpus then update the bios. But there is nothing else to do but switch out the cpus.
