I was thinking of upgrading RAM 4 x 2 GB 1333mhz that i took from my old PC (2 kingston and 2 samsung, working at 8-8-8-24) to G.Skill Ripjaws Z or Sniper (4x4 2144Mhz or 2x8 1866MHz ). I have i5 4690k, Asrock extreme 6, GTX960 (but planning to upgrade to 970 or 980). I have read almost everywhere that i wont be getting much of a difference, will it be the same in my case? Since my ram is older (about 4 - 5 years). I am mainly using it for playing games.

I wouldn't bother... If you are building a new computer its probably worth buying better ram since in some cases its only $5-10 more than cheap stuff. But I would be hesitant to tell anyone who has 8gb to go out and buy more.... Save the $ for your 970/980/390x

Taught as much, and also i know 8 GB is enough for gaming but while buying i taught to get 16GB for the future if i would be upgrading. I dont know if it is worth it... Or should i stick with those until i buy new PC (by that time DDR4 might be "standard")

Yeah, definitely. As long as you are not experiencing ram shortage (which you shouldn't since nothing is that hungry yet). Better save the money and upgrade everything in one go when the time for ddr4 comes.

Yeah my toughts exactly thats why i wanted some advice here. I was upgrading my pc but took only rams out of the old one and 1TB hard, but that got me thinking since they where older and since i have got procesor that can OC (which i did mildly) if i should get new ones.

I might gonna do just that, Getting new parts got me thinking but i think i will stay with this ones. There isnt any RAM shortage at the moment.. sometimes i get from windows that im low on ram but i think its because some games are just unoptimized. I will still think about it. Thanks for the answers
