Upgrading Dell Optiplex 580 Mini-tower

Dear Anyone reading this,

I am looking to upgrade my Dell Optiplex 580 Mini-tower until I can afford to buy a new Gaming PC and am wondering what people think about the upgrades I am thinking of doing.

The upgrades i am think of doing are a RAM increase to 8gb (4X2GB) 4GB already installed and also a graphics card upgrade to either a 6670 2gb or a 7750 1gb.

The Current Specs of the System are:

Processor - AMD Athlon II X2 B26 3.2ghz
RAM - 4GB (2X2GB)
Hard Drive - 250GB Western Digital 7200Rpm
PSU - 305watt Dell

My Main Concern when upgrading this PC is the PSU which cannot be changed as it is a custom size power supply unless anyone knows where i can get a higher wattage that will fit in the original case

Any responses will be helpful and also any links to forums that can help would be great.


P.S. Does anyone replying to this thread know what the Idle and load TDP are for a 7750 1gb

PC can come with either 305w Standard PSU or optional 255w 88% Efficient PSU

7750, about 10w idle and 55w load.

In theory, you could even get away with a R7 250X, a little bit more cash, but a bit more performance.

what is the idle and load TSP's for that card and what RAM GB's does it come in and also are there any other cards that will work as i want to try and get the best performance i can get
