Hello! I am new to pc hardware things so I am getting confuse with all the information I found on the internet. It'll be glad if I can get some help here :)

I want to add a Samsung 960 EVO SSD to my XPS 8700 but I found that the motherboard do not support it so I plan to changing it to ASUS B150M-A/M.2, but I am not really sure if it is suitable.

So, I had a few question about it:

1. Can the Asus motherboard fit it the XPS casing?

2. Are the Asus motherboard Wi-Fi ready or I can move the Wi-Fi adapter from XPS to it, or I need to buy a new Wi-Fi adapter for it?

3. If I install a new Windows on the new SSD, what will happen to the old windows on the HDD, do I need to uninstall it?

Also, is there any other suggestion for motherboard in the similar price range?

Thank you!

XPS 8700 is a late model PC system. It doesn't make much sense tearing it apart.

You can purchase a bare PC case, power supply and another hard drive to do what you want.

1) both Micro-ATX

2) It is removable card.

3) Nothing will happen to it. Renaming it to "old" may resolve any conflicts with a new Windows.

Thank you so much for the help!

I am trying to save budget as much as possible, so I am wonder that if I must get a new case and power supply for it?

If I get a new case, what is the reason that I can't use the power supply from the XPS?
