Hello!
I am buying my friend's desktop for a decent price.
His specs are:

PC Model - Lenovo H530
CPU - Intel Core i5-4440
Motherboard - Lenovo Sharkbay
GPU - Intel HD 4600
Hard Drive - Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 1TB
RAM - Hynix HMT451U6AFR8C-PB HMT425U6AFR6C-PB 6GB
OS - Windows 10

I was wanting to upgrade the graphics card to a GTX 960 and 8 GB ram.
I plan to buy only off of Amazon.
What are viable choices for GPU and RAM?
I have a limit of about $250.
I would also like to change the case if that is possible, maybe to one that looks cooler and has better air ventilation.
I want your help because I want to make sure that I get something that would fit.
Thank you very much!

Solution

You'll need a better psu because the standard one in the Lenovo can't power the gtx 960. Forget about a new case and that budget is quite low. 6gb of ram is ok to start with so buy a new psu first (seeing as you are on a budget0. I would recommend:

Evga 600B
Corsair cx 600

Those will cost you around 60-70$. This will leave you just enough for a gtx 960.
