Hi guys i'm looking to upgrade my pc monitor and im stuck between two options. I am sending back a philips 40" VA 4K Curve screen as my system wasn't happy running this.

the two monitors i'm looking at are these:

I prefer bigger screens - currently using a 37" samsung TV.

My system specs are:

Processor:AMD Black Edition FX -8350 4 GHz 8-Core

Graphics: Palit Gamerock GTX1080 8GB NVIDIA

Motherboard: Asrock 990FX Extreme9

Storage: SanDisk Ultra II 960 GB, SanDisk SSD PLUS 240 GB, Kingston 120GB SSDNow V300

Power Supply: Thermaltake 750W Toughpower Grand RGB 80 Plus Gold ATX Power supply/PSU

Capture Card: Elgato HD 60S

Memory: Corsair DDR3 Vengence Pro 32gb,
I use twitch to steam gameplay. Could you advise what I should go for as i've been led to believe VA Panels aren't too great for gaming?

Solution
Your FX8350 is a bottleneck on some games to reach over 100 fps. But I think you can still keep that processor for a while.

For GTX1080, I would recommend better to go with 2560x1440, not those 1080p anymore. And for monitor, I would not pick TN monitors anymore, PG278QR is a TN monitor. I am recommending Acer XB271HU or ASUS PG279QR, instead of those 2 you mentioned. I have the older Acer XB270HU, if you are interested to know.

So should I buy a screen now and upgrade my system to intel in a year? or upgrade to intel? if so what would be a solid build to go for? I have no idea about intel only ever used amd - would kabylake be the way forward? with X299?
