Question Upgrading from 10 to 11 from old to new build?

Hi, I am currently ugrading my computer from a 8700k to 13700k setup. Only replacing motherboard, cpu and ram. Everything else will be reused (SSDs, PSU, Case, Fans, GPU). Of course I am planning to do a complete new install. Currently I use Windows 10 on the 8700k, since it is not compatible with Windows 11. I need to set up the new build with Windows 11. Can I use my old license and do an upgrade? Or do I have to buy a new windows license? I will not use the Windows 10 going forward on any other computer. This was buy the way I license I bought. Didn't come as OEM with any kind of prebuild computer....

If you have the license key documented, you can almost certainly use that on a new Win 11 install on the new system.

And it isn't even a traditional 'upgrade'. Install Win 11 and enter that Win 10 license when it asks.

So, I basically just download the bootable win 11 usb from Microsoft and provide win 10 key during installation? cool, thanks

You download the MediaCreation tool, and run that to make the USB.

Yes. Intel cpus starting from 8th gen are supported with windows 11.

Main requirements for windows 10 to windows 11 upgrade are:

windows installed in UEFI mode,​

TPM enabled​

Secure Boot enabled.​
