Question Upgrading from 1080p to 1440p freezes my games

Good afternoon

I've had my PC for close to 3 years now and have had zero issues. Since I recently got into sim racing, I bought a 1440p Ultrawide and a 2080ti, not at the same time.

Ever since I changed to a 1440p monitor, random games will freeze. Games like GTAV, Apex, War Thunder, PC2, Cuisine Royale, and Modern Warfare. Sometimes I can hear sound, sometimes the sound just loops. It lasts forever and I have to hold the button down to shutdown and restart.

• MOTHERBOARD: ASRock Fatal1ty Z270 Gaming K6 ATX w/ USB 3.1, 3 PCIe x16, 3 PCIe x1, 6 SATA3, 2 M.2 SATA/PCIe
• OS: Windows 10 Pro (64-bit Edition)
• POWER SUPPLY: 850 Watts - EVGA 850W GQ 80 Plus Gold Power Supply
• VIDEO: ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2080 Ti DirectX 12 ROG-STRIX-RTX2080TI-O11G-GAMING 11GB 352-Bit GDDR6

Since the crashes: I've downloaded and used DriverBooster, Full uninstall and clean reinstall of Nvidia driver, and Dialed back overclocks

Not sure where to go from here. I hope someone has had a similar issue and knows a fix.

First start by not using those driver tools, IMO they are all bloatware which do nothing. They retain good ratings and reviews since most PC enthusiasts/gamers don't bother with them so there isn't much feedback on them to begin with.

Second download Drisplay Driver Uninstaller DDU https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html then use it while in safemode to wipe any and all Nvidia and if present any AMD drivers your system may have installed. Reboot normally then download and install the latest Nvidia drivers https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/

Third dont overclock your GPU until you know things are working. Also try and use DisplayPort if you havent.

I did all that and am still getting freezes. Out of curiosity, I went to userbenchmarks and tested my system. I thought that maybe a hardware problem could be the issue. However unlikely. Everything looked good, but my SSD where Windows 10 is installed got a 30% percentile. Low speeds etc. Could this be the/an issue?
