Upgrading from 16gb of ram to 32g. System won't post with new RAM, old works fine.

Hello, I'm working on upgrading from 16gb of ram to 32, but when using the new ram sticks the system won't post. However, my old ram works fine.


Current specs:

Mobo: MSI X99s Gaming 7
Ram: G.skill Ripjaws 4 16gb (4x4gb) DDR4 - running in quad channel with XMP enabled.
Cpu: i7 5820k oc'd to 4.3ghz

Ram I am trying to upgrade to:

Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 32gb (2x16gb) DDR4 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016BWENUI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Considering returning this ram kit for a 4x8gb kit.

Upon installing the new RAM and attempting to boot, everything turns on, but the system won't post, and the motherboards debug LED is giving me error code 60.

I've tried several different slot configurations for the new ram as per my motherboard's manual. Tried a single stick in every single slot, but again got the same error code but couldn't post.

I tried removing the CMOS battery for 30 seconds and replacing it. I haven't tried "shorting" it, and I my bios jumpers don't have a cover as far as I can tell (and I'm not sure if I've even located them).

On my old system, I managed to upgrade from 8gb of ram to 16 (4 sticks for each) without needing to clear the bios.

So what is the issue here? Did I improperly clear the bios? Does my motherboard just not like dual channel memory? Is my motherboard just incompatible with the new RAM?

UPDATE: UPDATE: My mobo manual specs state that it uses Quad Channel memory architecture. Could that mean my motherboard only works with 4+ sticks?

Nope, it'll work just fine in dual channel (Make sure you're using the right slots), just means it has the capability to run in quad channel. Try to check if there's a manual setting for dual channel in your BIOS with the old kit. Haven't seen one of those in ages, but it's a possibility if it's manually overriding it natively.
You usually don't need to clear the BIOS when swapping RAM in my experience, works just fine.
Can you let us know what the error code means according to your motherboard manual?
It's a high quality kit, i'm somewhat doubtful it's faulty since it's pretty much the best RAM you can get, but it's a possibility.
 



Okay thanks for clearing that up. I don't think the new RAM itself is at fault. The LED's on it light up and everything.

As for the error code I've been digging through the manual trying to find what it is, but I can't seem to find it in the manual. It has a bunch of other codes that can appear on the debug LED but its not telling me what 60 is. I was thinking it may be a compatibility issue, but on PCpartpicker, MSI's website, and from some research my friends did it should be compatible with my board. I'll update this if I can find what this code means.
 


Okay so I found a copy of my mobo's manual online to share. This is the only code table I can find and 60 isn't on there.
