Hello everyone, I will be getting $300 this year from taxes and have decided to upgrade my PC's video cards.

I currently have 2 GTX 460se video cards in SLI. I play at 1920x1080 and have a secondary monitor connected at 1600x900.

I've been looking around and from what I have a read, both a GTX660 and GTX660 ti will be upgrades (and will get me away from SLI).

I play games such as Borderlands 2, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Black Ops 2, Starcraft 2, and Arma II (DayZ). I get good enough FPS in them atm but I feel that if I was to upgrade then I could get a more consistent framerate and get away from the issues that SLI brings with it.

I am thinking that if I get a GTX660, I will also buy a sound card with Dolby Digital Live because I have heard from a friend that it greatly improves sound quality. Amazon has one for around $70 I believe.

Could anyone make a recommendation on which I should pick? In other words, is the 660ti THAT much better than the 660 to justify the price difference.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated!

Solution
It's all about the priorities, if it's for gaming mainly, the 660 ti will be better, if you're an audiophile, then get the 660 non ti and the sound card, the 660 gtx is still a good card for 1080p.

I would like to stick with Nvidia GPUs, Ive had nothing but problems with every AMD card I've encountered. Thanks for the suggestion though. The only reason Im considering the 660+soundcard is because the sound fill on some of my music kinda sucks with the built in 5.1 on my mobo.

But the difference in price is worth it then in your opinion? Between the 660 and 660ti that is.

I had to work on an AMD rig a couple of weeks ago and the graphic drivers were the only thing that gave problems as they kept crashing on reboot.
