upgrading from 8.1 enterprise evaluation to full verson

I have the free trial version of windows 8 enterprise and it has expired which caused my PC to turn off every hour or so. If i was to buy a windows key, is there a simple way i can just type the key in somewhere and everything works? or do i need to install windows (and everything else) and reinstall it?

Not unless you buying a enterprise version of windows 8, will need to reinstall

so if i was to use a windows 8.1 pro CD key it wouldnt work?
