Hey Everyone.

I have a Acer VN7-591G Intel® Core™ i7 Processor, 8Gb RAM, 1Tb Hard Drive, 8Gb Solid State Drive, Wi-Fi, 15.6 inch with 2GB Dedicated Graphics Laptop

Im considering upgrading the ram to 16gb but what improvement would i see,
I run Java built/ based games and have rendering/video editing and animation software which i use quite abit.

I understand i can allocate ram to different programs thus making them faster.

Question is what else would it do for the computer and would it be worth investing in additional ram.

Any pro's and cons with installing more ram?

Thanks in advance

8 GB is a good amount of RAM for most folks these days. For video editing and rendering, the general feeling is you can never have too much RAM, especially considering that there may be a time when you want to run multiple processes.

No real cons to upgrading the RAM other than cost, and the small chance that it may not work.

I would suggest monitoring the amount of memory used on your tasks, and seeing if you are maxing it out, or not. Then it will be easier to tell if you would benefit from the additional RAM. I use CleanMem, but there are other programs that do this as well.
