Hello so currently I have 2x4GB of Kingston 1333hz Cas 9 Memory in my computer. I wanted to upgrade by adding 4GB of Ram for a total of 12GB. Would I encounter any issues putting a 4GB Kingston 1333hz Cas 9 ram stick in my computer?

Well all the ram will run at the lower speed. so 1333 CAS9 and most likely it will run in single channel mode versus dual channel now since its 3 sticks instead of 4. Going from 8 to 12 will benefit little compared to losing the dual channel mode.

will it work? yes it should. I have run into Dells and HPs that won't run without being in matching sets. If its not a per-built than you should be okay.

What is I got 2x2GB of ram? Would that keep the ram at dual channel?

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ddr-dram-myths,4155.html#p5 (most common myths about DRAM)

This bit comes from one of the article from Toms:

Even though you are buying two of the exact same sets, there is no guarantee that they will work together. The DRAM that goes into a package has been tested to work together. Manufacturers don’t guarantee mixing or adding one set to another, even when they are the same exact model.

Customers often try this with higher data rate sticks using XMP to set them up. With XMP enabled, the motherboard may read the profile for two sticks of DRAM and set the secondary timings accordingly, but the tRFC timing for two modules may be 226, whereas four sticks require 314. This can be especially hard for most users to troubleshoot/find, as few ever go into the secondary DRAM timings.

This bit, applied to you as well. but reading the articles and getting a bit more familiar with memory can only benefit you in the end.
