Current specs:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3
RAM: 12GB

Looking to upgrade my GPU for current games like For Honor, Ghost Recon Wildlands. Is the Nvidia GTX line still worth upgrading or will something else give me more bang for my buck?

Solution
You can get a GTX 1070 and eventually upgrade the CPU. On the other hand, I would say get a GTX 1060 or Rx 580 and save money now. The next generation of NVIDIA cards may not be that far off, and the current gen AMD high end Vega is releasing in next couple of months too. Might be cheaper to pick the gtx 1060/Rx 580 to save money and wait for the new players.

$500-$600. Yeah, I'm aware about my CPU, that's going to be replaced too. I'm just trying to figure out what's best to spend the $$ on.
