upgrading from a GTX 970, should i get a 1080/Ti or get an RTX 2080?

Howdy! i currently have a i5-8600K with a GTX 970 and i'm planning to upgrade my GPU soon

since i play a lot of vr and have a 1080p 120hz monitor that i want to run as silky smooth as possible with high settings, would a GTX 1080/1080 Ti or an RTX 2080 be a better upgrade?

If money is not a factor, you can get the latest and greatest. If budget is a factor, then you should eye the GTX1080Ti. Speaking of eyeing, what is the make and model of your PSU and how old is it?

i dont think you should get any of these. the difference between the 1070 ti and the 1080 is negligible. less than 5% in some cases. again if you have the money get the 2080 even if it is slightly slower than the 1080 ti a 1070 ti should handle vr just fine and 120hz 1080p on high or even ultra on some games. for what you are doing i dont see a reason to go above the 1070 ti.
