[SOLVED] Upgrading from a GTX1070 - what upgrade would be considered good value?

I 'd like to upgrade my GTX1070. But I'm undecided what card would be the best values (bang for the buck) to justify the investment. I play in 1440p and as long I get 60fps with Very High or Ultra Settings.

I would go RTX 2080 as a substantial upgrade for 1440P gaming. Usually you want to go up three spots on the GPU hierarchy chart for a worthwhile upgrade.

Plus with a RTX card you'll be able to try out Ray Tracing as long as you play games that support it.

Depends on the game but I do agree there is a bit of a price increase between the two. If the 2070 performance is what you want and selling your 1070 can take a bit out of the price then I'd say go for it.

Ok so yea that would be a solid pairing for 1440P gaming. To help increase FPS and reduce dips I would suggest overclocking your 8700K to around 5ghz. All the information and tools can be found in the Intel Temperature Guide by CompuTronix.
