I'm looking for the best upgrade possible within the 100-150$ range. I just wondered if there is a better option then my current processor out there. Im also willing to upgrade to a newer motherboard. My gpu is a gtx 1050 msi 2gb

Solution
I don't think the 860k is too weak to run andromeda, however the g4560 is still better all round

This video is close to your settings, same cpu + v similar gpu: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhHQ7H4tY3M

and here with a slightly better gpu + higher settings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iz8z3I2efaw

And yes, the g4560 is the best cheap upgrade for you. 95% of the performance of an i3 but half the price. If you can't afford to go for an i5, get the g4560.

For comparison, here's the g4560 vs the 860k in a few games - as you can see, it's definitely a decent upgrade: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-j92ulh108

The sale of your 860k / mobo / ram should go a long way towards the $180 needed
This would be the "cheapest" upgrade:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Motherboard: ASRock B250M-HDV Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($66.98 @ Newegg)

Total: $182.06

That being said, I would recommend moving to an i5 at least.

Like it really made me angry when I attempted to play mass effect andromeda and whenever I play on the ship I get like 7 fps. Im so confused because other people with similar hardware are doing way better.

I know right im so confused i'm fine with all other games. My temps are fine. While playing the first mission i would continually get drops to the low 20's. Dishonored 2 also has low frame rates but not as bad. I also have 8gbs of ram. While looking at the process in the process manager its using like 100% of cpu.

So is it that my processor is too shitty to run mass effect andromeda? If so I will eventually upgrade to the i3 6100.
