I'm looking for the best upgrade possible within the 100-150$ range. I just wondered if there is a better option then my current processor out there. Im also willing to upgrade to a newer motherboard. My gpu is a gtx 1050 msi 2gb
And yes, the g4560 is the best cheap upgrade for you. 95% of the performance of an i3 but half the price. If you can't afford to go for an i5, get the g4560.
As Gam3r01 has shown, just the motherboard and RAM for an upgrade are going to push your budget. There are no upgrades for the socket FM2+ system you have, so you're looking at an overhaul.
The 860k isn't a bad cpu, is it giving you problems?
Like it really made me angry when I attempted to play mass effect andromeda and whenever I play on the ship I get like 7 fps. Im so confused because other people with similar hardware are doing way better.
I know right im so confused i'm fine with all other games. My temps are fine. While playing the first mission i would continually get drops to the low 20's. Dishonored 2 also has low frame rates but not as bad. I also have 8gbs of ram. While looking at the process in the process manager its using like 100% of cpu.
I had a quick browse of YouTube and people with your specs are pushing 50-60fps on the first mission at 1080p / medium... I wasnt paying much attention to the precise settings they were using but yes it was definitely playable

I'm just so confused I tried lowest settings it still ran like crap.
- Check nvidia driver is up to date
- Check game is on latest patch
- Let geforce experience optimise the settings for you
And let's go from there
I'm on the latest driver. This system in this vid is similar to mine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwYML28X8Ew&t=579s but at 7:56 demonstrates the area where i get low fps like 11. During combat I drop to the 20's. I'm going to reinstall the game.
