So I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card to get a little more oomph to get me through my transition from my old pc to my new one, which ill build in about a year or so. I currently have a 7870 running with a AMD Phenom II X6 1065T at 2.9ghz. I was thinking of upgrading to something a little better like a Radeon R7 370 or maybe a 380. Is it even worth upgrading right now, or should I wait until I build my new rig? Is my processor going to wash out any improvement I make with my GPU?

Thanks for any and all input.

I can't spend that kind of money right now haha. I was looking for something under 250$ or so.

I have a MSI R9 380 4GB and it's a great card. Might get bottlenecked by your CPU though, even my FX-8320 @ 4.0 GHz bottlenecks it a bit in CPU intensive games like GTA V. DX12 might help alleviate bottlenecks though, we'll see.

I said that the r7 370 is worse than his 7870 not the 380 😉

If you have a strong enough psu the 380 best if not the 960

Ah my bad 😀 In that case you're right.
