[SOLVED] Upgrading from B350 to B450 for 3700X?

Solution
All msi b350 motherboards will get a 3rd gen update. I distenctly remember the b350 pc mate on the supported list.

My b350 gaming plus has a beta bios with 3rd gen support. The bios is unstable and causes crashes, but it has 3rd gen support.
If you do want to overclock your cpu and have the best memory overclocking, i would buy a good quality 400 series board.
While 300 will work, 400 series may be better suited.

Im assuming you already have a 1st gen chip? If not, look for boards with usb bios flashing.

I had a b350 pc mate and nothing but memory issues, but i would have no doubt it would work with 3rd gen, just not ideal.

Running the 1600. I honestly haven't liked this board since I bought it and from what I've seen, most people don't like the Mate either. The Pro Carbon SHOULD be a substantial upgrade. I also bought some DDR4-3600.

The PC Mate doesn't support it. I can also sell my PC Mate for hopefully around $50. There's also the Crosshair VI I could get for cheap. Too many decisions honestly.
Has MSI announced they positively won't come out with BIOS support for it with Zen2?

I think I'd go for the CH VI if it's cheap enough to compare to a B450 Pro Carbon. It was the go-to board for LN2 overclocking and has a better VRM than any B450 board.
