Hi guys, my rig is core 2 duo e7500 oc to 3.3 ghz. 4gb ram and. Gpu hd 7750 1gb, with this rig I played games fine until today, watch dogs stutters and I really wanna play gta v smoothly even at gb lowest. So I'm considering to buy a used core 2 quad from eBay since my budget is very tight and my socket is 775. However I don't know how much this upgrade will be worth it and also are used cpus from eBay trustworthy? I'm lookin at this one but I'm open for suggestions http://m.ebay.com/itm/281539876253?nav=SEARCH

I assume you know the chip you're looking at is actually a Xeon, and works in some 775 motherboards, but not others. If you've confirmed that the chip will work with your motherboard, go right ahead. That would be a solid upgrade as well.

cheers!
There's not much risk if you buy from a reputable seller (lots of user feeback at 98%+ satisfaction or so).

The best option for that socket is something around a Q9650. They run $100 or so on ebay.

Between the CPU and GPU, a CPU upgrade would benefit you more right now. However, your RAM might be limiting you more. How much RAM do you have installed and what is your motherboard make/model?

Good Luck!

Thanx for the answer, my mobo is g31mxp so it has max 4 gb ram sadly for me, thanx for the recommendation, so you don't think the q9550. Link I mentioned before is a worthy upgrade? I'm asking cause it looks cheap compared to the q9650 you recommend of 100 euros 😛
