[SOLVED] Upgrading from FX-8350 to 2700X

Hello, I recently tried to build an extremely powerful computer with an FX-8350 and an RX-570 8GB. It gives good FPS but programs are always not responding and Fortnite is constantly freezing. Is this normal for an FX-8350? anyway I started to look for a better processor realizing my choice of processor had been a mistake and I decided on a 2700X to avoid a disappointment of speed. Being experts would you say it would get rid of the freezing and give me better FPS or just be a waste of money and time, thank you.

My board does support my cpu it’s the Asus m5a78l not great but does the job for most games except Fortnite I also checked my SSD for errors (being the drive I have Fortnite on). And for the cpu cooler I have the deepcool gammaxx 400

Would you say it could cause general problem of programs not responding?
And for upgrading I was gonna go with the ASrock B450M and 16GB (8x2) of 2400 ram with the Ryzen 7 2700x would this present the same problem

I see, I was hunting for a sabertooth and couldn’t find one. I think I’ll just deal with my Fortnite freezing for the next 6 months and near Christmas do a complete upgrade to a 2700X which should speed everything up because all my parts are relevant except my processor ram and motherboard.

The FX had @ 66% of the instructions per clock (IPC) of a 3rd gen Intel i5. Currently in 9th gen Intel. At a conservative 50% more IPC between 3rd and 9th gen, the FX is @ 90% slower. You'd need to run it @ 10GHz to keep up with new cpus. The 2700x is kicking at the heels of Intel. To say moving from FX to Ryzen is a serious upgrade is a serious understatement. Night and day difference in ability.

Why does it need to be the 2700X? If you live near a Microcenter you can get the Ryzen 1600 for $80 that is much better then that 8350 and due to the much cheaper price you should be able to replace your current setup much quicker.
