Hey all a quick question , i had an i7 6700k , and 16 gb of ram different modules , and a gtx 1080 rog strix i upgraded my whole pc
A new oc : cpu i7 9700k , 16 gb of ram same speed teamgruld cl16 and an rtx 2060
My main question is , some people say that a gtx 1080 is better than rtx 2060 , but im debating , should i keep my gtx 1080 on this pc , or use my rtx 2060 on that pc? The new one , as i dont know if ray tracing would be that. Abig difference , i hope i can get a quiet good answers , cheers guy and thanks in advance

The 1080 is actually about 10% faster than the 2060 which is nothing you would notice seat of pants. With the drop in driver support it is slowly going to be less and less optimized for newer games. Where it is my opinion that the 1080 is likely among the best graphics cards ever made, its time has unfortunately passed with the drop in support.

Thank u for the reply , so ur best bet is to keep the rtx 2060? Becuase im actually really debating , cuz gtx 1080 is pretty good and i can see some performance fps from rtx 2060

you should have consult on the forum before making that purchase ,
since going from gtx 1080 to rtx 2060 is not worth it
(they are basically the same (performance wise) although 1080 has more VRAM going for it) .
back in a day i made an upgrade from gtx 1080 to rtx 2070 super and that was noticeable
(around 25% performance boost) more importantly i managed to sell my gtx 1080 for $200
and buy rtx 2070S for $220 so the upgrade was almost free .

maybe you should put both cards on sale and see which one of them you can sell faster or for a better price
because it doesn´t make much sense keeping the 2 identically performing video cards at home
unless you want to build a secondary system ...
or better yet sell both and buy something like radeon 7800xt .
