[SOLVED] upgrading from GTX 1080 to RX 5700XT vs RTX 2070S/2080S

Hey guys!
Right now i'm a little confused? I have a Monitor with 1440P, 144Hz. I really love my GTX 1080, but i do feel it falls short at ultra quailty 1440P. Do any of you recommend an upgrade here, or is it pointless?

If you are willing to upgrade, and you want the best performance on 1440p/144Hz, then the RTX 2070 SUPER seems like an option. You need to decide whether upgrading your GPU will help you with performance, assuming you are not satisfied with your current GPU..

Whether doing this is "pointless" or not, depends on a lot of factors. It's subjective as well...

I might say that the 5700XT and the 2070 Super are equal performers.

The 5700XT is a 225W card vs 2070S being 215W, and, their scores on the hierarchy chart are 95.8 and 94.1 respectively, which I'd call a tie for all intents and purposes.

However, if you decide it's worthwhile, and if you have a GSync monitor, then go with the Nvidia card. If you have FreeSync, then either one will do.

This is BS. only Amd fan say they are equal and its a lie.

Rtx2070S is faster and if u OC u get 5-7% more performance.
If u OC Rx5700XT u get 1-3% more Performance. Rtx2070S is faster and Speed difference is over 10%

Thats is just wrong , AMD fan is made it.

Rtx2070S is under Rx5700XT = Wrong
Rtx2070 is under RX5700= Wrong
Rtx2060S is under Rx5700= Wrong


2070 and 2060S is faster than Rx5700
Rtx2070S is faster than Rx5700XT
