Upgrading from GTX 750 to AMD RX 550 ?

Hello there, does upgrading from GTX 750 OC (2GB) to RX 550 (4GB) will make the performance difference (exluding memory for now).
From my experience and searching it. RX 550 is far better than GTX 750 OC (2GB) in overall performance.
Can anyone help that am I right? Please don't inlcude any other Graphic Cards in this thread.

It'll be a very marginal gain in some games, a very marginal loss in some games. Nor will the VRAM make a difference; a GTX 750 isn't fast enough to take advantage of more VRAM in most situations nor is an RX 550 fast enough to make advantage of 4 GB of VRAM in most situations. There may be a few very edge cases when the RX 550 sees a benefit -- such as going nuts with Skyrim texture packs -- but on the whole, there's really not much point in replacing a 750ti with an RX 550.

An RX 560, on the other hand, is a completely different story. But the RX 550 is a light gaming and eSports GPU, essentially where the GTX 750 is today.

DSzymborski, thanks for the reply. Now its clear to me that I'm on the right road after what you have mentioned. Thats why my eyes are on GTX 1050ti right now for reasonable upgrade, according to my budget. I wanted to buy RX470 in near future, but its been disappeared from market totally because of that mining craz and even its prices goes damn too high because of shortage.

with newer gpu they support the newest version of Microsoft gaming api. also with amd and nvidia the newer gpu now use less power and heat from a few rev ago. as your late into buying the 1050ti. i would hold off till volta drops.

smorizio, your right, by the way whenever the volta drops as its expected to be realease in 2018. Its prices will be very high. I want a normal upgrade according to available budget before 2018. Not everyone can afford such high prices specially like volta that will come with the beast prices in 2018.

1050ti. Good choice and I'm rocking a Windforce 1050ti at 1.7GHz. (Daredevil, tried to run it at 1.9GHz but got scared and lowered the clock).
