I currently using gtx 970 and playing at 1080p, it was fine a year ago i could play almost all games with ultra @ 60fps, but with today games such as rise of the tomb raider, the division etc my gtx 970 cant play ultra setting anymore @60fps, well yes i can but i have to accept 30 fps or ultra @ 60fps but with lower resolution. Should i upgrade to r9 390x? i see lately r9 390x is more well optimized than gtx 970, and it can play all the latest game 1080p at ultra 60fps.
Would you guys give me an opinion?

To make the games run better try playing witth the settings a bit, dont use the preset ones, i usually turn down the aa and motion blur to get better preformance, and usually some setinng will give you equitr a bitbof ectra preformance if you turn them down and there wont be much of a noticable difference in quality
What are you taling about i could play the division in the beta at ultra setting with motion blur and aa turned down at 60 fps.You should definetly wait before upgrading since the next generation of gpus will be here in a few months meanwhile you can try to overclock it a bit to get some extra preformance

i dont know, i only get 60 fps at ultra when there is no fog/snow and walking, but when i start to run with fog/snow i only get 35-38fps. The only way to play ultra @60fps is lowering my resolution to 900p.
When will the next generation gpus release? if it is 3 or 5 months from now(march) then i maybe i will wait

do you know 1080/1070 price rumors? Will it cost the same as 970 when it was released a year ago?

i will wait then, thank you so much
