Looking at either the R9 Nano or a GTX 980, not really sure which one is going to be better of VR and 4K. Any advice would be appreciated.

I found this info about the GTX 980: http://wccftech.com/nvidia-recommends-geforce-gtx-980-ti-gtx-980-1080p-vr-gaming-highend-market-share-rises-apac-markets/

Pretty sure the R9 Nano will handle 4K but not sure about VR as I have never looked into that.

Thanks for the link Rabmac, interesting read. I am really interested in finding out how much more powerful the R9 is. I seen that it has better specs than a Titan X? Is that right?

I will be honest and say that I cannot say for certain as I have never tested either card but from the benchmarks I have looked at the R9 nano is the better performing card of the two but would double check.

Neither will run 4K without turning down the settings a little, no single GPU can.
Of the two the R9 Nano is the better card for such extreme gaming but be aware this particular card is prone to throttling under high loads in order to stay within its power limits so good case airflow is essential (lower temperatures=less power draw).

I am bad at asking for help lol. I knew that the 4k was probably not going to happen on a single GPU yet with all the bells and whistles (I dont have a 4K tv yet anyway) but it is good to know the r9 has a throttling issue. I am thinking the 980 may be the better choice given the fact that the current cards are not going to pull great numbers on 4K. May be buying more power than I need with the R9 Nano then
