Hello guys
I own since 6 months an i3 7100 only for gaming i have a freind he owns a i5 7500 new one and asked me if i wana buy it for 100Euros. Now when i see comparison with the new i3 8th generations they are the same as the i5 7th generation so schould i stick with my i3 atm and maybe stay with it for a year or more and than do an upgrade to Intel or AMD, or schould i sell mi i3 and get the i5? i can sell my cpu for maybe 50 euros and add 50 more to get the i5 and how much future prove will the i5 7500 be?

Future proof doesn't exist but the quad core i5 has a better future than a dual core. That's also VERY inexpensive for a 7500. You then sell the i3 for $100. That is what it's selling for over here in the states($113). Even if you only sell it for $50(please replace and convert dollars with your money) you are receiving a very nice upgrade for very little money.

And I stopped at 100 euros. Now I see you've already thought this through. The buying and selling... Upgrade to the 7500. This won't be an EPIC upgrade from like a 1050 Ti to a 1080 Ti but you should see a performance boost.

I think the I5-7500 would be a sideways move for gaming.
Your 4 thread I3-7100 has a passmark rating of 5838 with a single thread rating of 2232.
The single thread rating is most important for most games.
The I5-7500 has a stronger passmark rating of 8093, but essentially the same single thread rating of 2121.

If your games are multiplayer, then the 4 full cores of the i5-7500 will be good.
If your games are sims, mmo, and strategy games that depend on a fast master thread, then the i3-7100 should be equaly good.

As to the future, who knows?
If you encounter a new game that does not perform as well as you like, that is the time to change.
That change might be a better cpu, or, in the case of fast action games, a graphics card upgrade is more likely.

idk what to say im mainly a csgo player with over 3500 hours and getting around 200 fps on 5v5 but in Deathmatch with 32 player im dropin always 100 fps, i played on lan with an i5 7400 and got around 280 fps. In other games it doesent make a difference i3 vs i5 7th gen almost the same fps.

In my country the i3 7100 is selling new for 120$ and the i5 7500 for around 230$. I think im gona take it.

Yeah i saw in single player games it was equal maybe 2% difference in fps. But i never ever play single player games like Witcher, Assasins etc. i like mulitplayer like CSGO, PUBG etc.

So, you're dropping from 200fps to 100fps? I wouldn't classify that as an issue if I understand you correctly.

Its a big issue... reason for that is when playing many many years csgo you notice the low fps like i have on DM servers, It gets very llagi and stutters a lot with a 75 Hz screen.
