Hi guys
I want to upgrade my Gaming Rig. I only game. No streaming or content creation.
Actually Im using

I5 4590
B85 Micro Atx
2*4 Gb ddr3 1600Mhz
Rx 580 4Gb
450W Power Supply

My budget is around 600Usd. So here i found

I5 9400F 150 usd
H310Cm 70 usd
Adata Xpg Spectrix 3000Mhz 75usd
Evga Rtx 2060K0 300usd

So my questions are
1- Is it good for 3 years of gaming on 2K . High or ultra at 75 fps?
2- Is it better to invest 100 usd more to get Rtx 2060 super or even 5700xt?
3-I ve heard Ryzen 3rd gen is good, especially Ryzen 5 3600. Is that really better than I5 9400f? Or May be should i go for i5 10400F?

I already upgraded to
Ssd Wd Green 1Tb Wester Digital
Acer 24 inches 2K Ips 75Hz panel
Evga 600W
Corsair SP 120 Rgb Pro pack
Corsair Atx Case

Thanks

Agreed, R5-3600---- (and a decent B450) every day of the week.

If the 10600K and a good Z490 mainboard were available for the same price, it is indeed faster.

(I'd rule the 8400, 8600/9400/9600 variants out of contention, as their six threads are already quite busy just with a game, where even a notification of an email arriving is a task that might cause a stutter during gameplay...; streaming is already taking a hit if only have six threads available)

Thanks for the reply

I guess Ryzen 5 3600 better nowadays
Ive found
Ryzen 5 3600 for 185 Usd
Gigabyte B450M Ds3H from Gigabyte for 75usd
So for 40usd more than I5 9400f and H310 am I future proofing myself?

Now I hesitate between I5 10400F and B460Mds3 H at the same price

AMD or INTEL big question? I only game

The i5-9400F has only 6 cores no multithreading and that will hurt gaming performance. 3 years ago, i'd say you would be fine but with ps5 and xbox x games coming out soon designed to run on 8c/16t...... That's where everything is moving. On intel, thats the i7-10700 for $360. On AMD thats the R7-3700x for $270.
The Intel will get you about an extra 20 fps on the top end when gaming 1080p, less at 1440 and about equal at 4K. Is that enough for your extra $90?
My advice go with this and save up and get a new 70 series graphics card in a couple months when Nvidia drops their 4000 series RTX cards.

Yeah you are right about the multi threads. But i cant afford 275usd for only cpu now and I I5 10400 have 12 threads for my gamùing needs.

Ouah The ram is a pretty good deal thanks.

In the end ill take for 610Usd in total
*I5 10400 for 180Usd just a little more performance than Ryzen 5 3600 in games and if needed ill upgrade to I7 or I9 after 1 or 2 years
*Corsair ram 16Gb for 50 Usd
*Gigabute B460 for 80Usd in case ill need more ram in the future
*Ill stick to Rtx 2060 for 300 Usd

Thanks guys
