Hi....I'm not a complete numpty but that said, not so far away!
I have an old Thinkcentre mini pc, M93P Dual Core i5 @2.9GHz.
AI informs me that I can swap that out for a Quad Core i7 4770 3.4GHz as they share the same 1150 socket.
Can I just confirm that AI is indeed the mystical source of all intelligence & if so, then is it a simple swap & done, or will I need to start re-configuring stuff that I know very little about?
Thanks/Gill

The 4765t is officially supported, it might be that's just because of the cooling capabilities and that the 4770 will work fine (at the same low TDP) .
BUT sometimes the bios is locked to specific CPUs and putting in a different one will just not work.

Also you could have a look at their bios updates and see if there is any info there on CPU changes.

Thank you's all for the swift replies...very much appreciated.

I did manage to run that CPU-Z app & the current cpu is an i5 4570T 2.9GHz
Looking at the specs kindly provided does this mean that an i7-4765T is indeed my best/only option?

And if so am I still likely to have to address the

mentioned by TerryLaze 'cos I fear I'd be hopelessly lost if so?

Thanks again.

Yes, on both counts.
The i7-4765T, and any potential BIOS limitations.

Looks like you could go to a 4785T.
