Hello everyone !
My main concern is that would it be fine for my system if I go for this upgrade ? (From an AMD R9 270x Hawk to a GTX 1060)
I don’t want my system’s components to degrade the card’s potential.

My PC Specs :
i5 - 4460 @3.2 Ghz
Asus B85 Motherboard
AMD R9 270x Hawk Edition 2 GB
8 GB Ram (2x4)
600 W Coolermaster PSU

Thank you !

Then the 1050 Ti would be 310. So its not really worth it.

You should stick with your original plan of buying the 1060 6GB. It will run just fine in your rig and perform great. It be will be more than twice as fast as the 270X.

It's a pretty reasonable deal in today's market. Go For It.

P.S: It better not be a Zotac Mini version cause that one has thermal issues.

I am planning to go for the 6 GB 1060. I am on a budget mate, won’t be able to go for the RAM. 🙁

Alright, well you should still be fine then, there shouldn't be a bottleneck in that situation. Although, I think you should go for the 16GB when you get the chance, it'll help out in the long run.

I have another option man, I can either upgrade the RAM (to DDR4 8GB), processor (to i5 8400) and mobo to asus rog z370 and keep the current 270x card OR keep the other things same and go for the GTX 1060 6GB.
So I am confused here, what should I go for ?

That might be a better plan overall as GPU pricing is very out of whack right now and with new GPUs coming out this year you most probably will be able to get a much better card for the price of that GTX 1060 a year or so later from now.

In that case building a better foundation for your Rig by changing out the CPU, MOBO and RAM seems to be the smarter choice. You'll be able to use that CPU with all GPUs to come for at least the next three years. I would strongly recommend doing this.

However, if your GPU is really not being able to deliver the performance you NEED and do NOT want to put up with it for another year, then I suggest getting something like a GTX 1050 Ti as it would save you a LOT of cash Now. And it would still provide a much better gaming experience. Then change your CPU, GPU, MOBO and RAM when you can afford them.

I need more FPS right now mate, better gaming performance. Plus, they’ll give me compensation for my old card (R9 270 X), that’s what keeps me going.

In case could tell us how much its going to cost you to get a 1060 6GB vs a 1050 Ti?

And your system is perfectly capable of running a 1060 6GB without any bottlenecks. So if it is a reasonable price just buy it as you need the performance now. As soon as possible before their offer runs out.

There must only be a 80 USD or so difference between the 1050ti 4GB and 1060 6GB after the discount at max, so should I ?
