Upgrading From R9000pro

I have a friend with a Radeon 9000pro.

Hes looking to upgrade his card for somewhere around $150-$200 what card would you suggest?

I told him to see if he could find a deal on the R9700pro or GfX5700Ultra, but wanted to check with you guys to make sure i'm not giving himn bad advice.

Sure if he can find a 9700/9700 Pro or 9800 non-pro for $200 that's great! Otherwise the 9600 Pro is a good card for $150.

By the way, the 9800SE is a big nono, junk.

just because the 9700 and 5700 have "7" in their name, doesnt mean they are comparable



the 9700 will blow it out of the water in most areas , especially the areas that count like pixel shading
