Upgrading from radeon 7950 hd to gtx 780ti worth it

I have the asus amd radeon 7950 hd and i know this graphics card. i know it was kinda high end when in came out a a while ago but the thing is i have only used it for about a year(have only been playing on pc that long also) and a half so that is the reason i am having second thaughts about this cause maybe its to rash its just that i will be buying another monitor and this graphics card i believe wont be able to handle it. I also have the money to buy it i just need opnions on my decision because of the fact i have only just got into pc gaming around 2 years ago.
so my question is what do you thing about my video card, and would it be worth it to buy a new one.

Oh it absolutely is. The 7950 is really only a R9 280 a mid range card. The 780ti will keep you going for the foreseeable future and play anything you want on ultra.
