Hi guys,

I'm using RX480 8GB with i5-7600K cpu right now. And I'm planning to upgrade to GTX 1070Ti when it's released. I'm using a 1080p 144hz monitor. Firstly will my cpu handle the 1070Ti? Secondly, is it really necessary upgrading the gpu for full hd gaming? I've been playing Star Wars Battlefront II for 2 days and I'm not getting straight 60 fps with the ultra settings. And I think that I won't be able to get 60fps in the new games like COD: WW2.

Thanks.

The RX480 is targeted solidly at mid-range performance.

The GTX1070 is the start of high end performance. The 1070Ti is supposedly one SM unit shy of a GTX1080. GTX1080 can manage about 90FPS in most titles at 2560x1440, so 1080p shouldn't be much of an issue for a 1070Ti.

If the price is right, probably a good deal.

Though if your goal is 144 FPS in the frostbite engine, a CPU upgrade might not be a bad idea either. Going to get bottlenecked somewhere along the way.
