Upgrading from the fx-4100 to the fx-8350

I'm looking at a CPU upgrade, and the 8350 has caught my eye. (I'd love the 4690k, but budget constraints mean I can't afford the CPU and a new motherboard). My question is: Would you consider this a worthy upgrade? If it's of any help, the GPU I'm using is the r9 270x OC edition.

The gigabyte 78LMT. As far as I know it supports AM3+ (at least the box says so).

Whilst the motherboard support it, it isn't a good motherboard to place a FX 8350.

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll just save some more and get the 4690k, as the price difference won't be much if I'm going to need a new motherboard for the 8350 as well.
