Upgrading from win 7 to win 10

I just want to make sure before I proceed. . Once i upgrade, do i need purchase WINDOWS 10 product key? or does the my windows 7 product key allow me to upgrade to win10 for free?

You can upgrade for free. Try using windows upgrade program. If it wont allow then try to install windows 10 and use the windows 7 product key.

Technically, the free Upgrade period ran out last July.
However, media and people in here reporting it still working.

Try it, see what happens.

Assuming it works, there is a possibility of reverting back. Within 30 days.
Or if it fails partway through, it might revery automagically.

As always, that is not a guarantee. Things happen.
Have a known good image of your current Win 7 before you start.
