Windows is installed on my C drive and I have some other data/programs installed on another drive. If I upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit, I know a clean install on C is necessary, but what about the data/programs on the other drive? Can they be left alone?

you need to install these programs again for them to work with 64 bit os as the old ones were installed to work with 32 bit os some programs wight work some may not for those tat does not work you need to get a 64 bit version of them

I have one HD that is totally clean (in addition to C and the other drive with data/programs on it).

If I understand you correctly, I could install the 64 bit version of Win 7 on the clean drive, then see if I needed to make any changes to the existing programs on C and the other drive in order to make them run.

Is that right? Please excuse my ignorance!
