Upgrading G4600 with i5-7400 or 7500?

This is a secondary rig. My main rig has a R5 1600X. I'm away from it though and I'm itching to play some AC-O. This game really needs at least 4 proper cores. I figured these two were the proper upgrade at 160 and 180€. An exhaustive 1080p gaming benchmark from a source I trust (German language) states the 7500 is 5% faster. It's a 12-13% price difference though. I'm inclined to go with the 7400.

You may be right. The 7500 costs as much as a Ryzen 1500X and is a few fps faster or slower depending on who's benchmarks you look at.

Its more about the games you play. Some games like AC-O benefit from the extra clock speed in terms of game scaling. Besides its going to give you a bit more longevity down the line.
