So with the release of Tomb Raider and SimCity coming out here soon I am looking to upgrade my Geforce 9500gt so that I can enjoy these games and all their graphic glory. I looked at the best graphic card for the money article and am considerign the radeon hd 7850 and 7870 le. I believe these should be more than enough to handle both those games easily enough specially at 1920x1080. I am also hoping that whichever I buy will last me for a bit as I don't really want to buy another any time soon.

Computer:
Asus P7P55D-E Pro Motherboard
Intel i7 870 Lynnfield
8gb Gskill Ripjaws
1.5 TB HD
Antec 500W PSU

Like I said ~$250 budget give or take a bit. If you need any more info just let me know. Thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance. =)

unless there's a crazy deal for a 7950 somewhere or you don't mind aiming for a vanilla flavored 7870(still a big improvement over the 9500gt) for around the same price, i suggest you get going while stocks last, if you're not so much into waiting for restocks. maybe check newegg again if they stocked up

for your budget, yeah at worse. performs damn close to the 7950 at stock.

i do have to question how much your PSU have aged though if you usually have it on for 24hrs for long periods of time
