Hi all,

My girlfriend has given me her old PC from 2013. She only wants to use it to play The Sims 4 without it being choppy (at the moment the frame rate gets progressively worse as you play) but I'm not sure if it's a RAM problem or a GPU problem. Either way, we are looking to upgrade it a bit (on a budget if possible) and would really appreciate some suggestions!

Here are the specs as given on the case, can provide more info if needed:

AMD Athlon X2 Dual Processor 3800+ (2.0GHz) with HyperTransport Technology
2048MB RAM PC3200 DDR
200GB HD 7200RPM Serial ATA
nVidia GeForce 6600 3D PCI-Express Graphics 256MB DDR

Thanks in advance!

Nothing there to upgrade. It's pretty well balanced for 2005 ( I had a GeForce 6600 ). Adding a ( slightly ) faster graphics card might help a little but you'd be buying used, 10-12 year old parts.

Even a cheap laptop will be several times faster than that system.
